Invitation - Riga Hotel Seminar – 30th June 2010
Dear Sector Colleagues,
The economic and financial crisis has had a profound effect on the Riga hotel sector. Hotel operators have been hit particularly hard, as the economic downturn and new supply has driven both occupancy rates and average room rates down. Hotel owners, investors and operators are thus looking for ways to insert new life into the hotel properties and to make them more profitable, or to refinance their properties through a partial sale. Some may even be looking the opportunity to completely exit the sector. Maybe the whole city needs a more coherent plan how to manage the hotel market in the future…
Christie+Co and Finnish Consulting Group in collaboration with the Latvia’s
Hotel and Restaurant Association are organising a brief seminar on 30th
June 2010 @ 10:00-13:00 at Hotel De Rome to discuss and tackle some of
the key hot economic, macro & micro topics suppressing the Riga hotel
market, including but not limited to:
- Economist view of the Latvian economy in the short to medium term – SEB Bank
- Master Plan for Riga Hotel Market – FCG
- New Supply – C+Co
- Re-Branding & Positioning – C+Co
- VAT levels – C+Co
- Marketing – C+Co
- Demand Generator – Congress Centre – C+Co / Riga City Council
