The Industry Supports the Proposal by Fractions
of the Parliament to Apply the Reduced Rate of the VAT to Hotel and Restaurant Services.
DATA COLLECTED BY THE ASSOCIATION OF HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS OF LATVIA (AHRL) SHOW THAT THE DECISION ADOPTED AT THE END OF 2008 TO APPLY TO THE ACCOMMODATION SERVICES THE VAT RATE OF 21% HAS BEEN A MISTAKE. THE FORECASTS OF PLANNED REVENUE – TO GAIN ADDITIONAL LS 8 000 000 IN REVENUES, HAS NOT BEEN FULFILLED.
THE SOCIETY OF LATVIA HAS NEVER PROVIDED THE MAINTENANCE FOR HOTELS. HOTELS OF LATVIA TOGETHER WITH THE SOCIETY FINANCIALLY ENSURE THE OPERATION OF THE STATE REVENUE SERVICE.
